Novity™, a commercial venture introduced by Xerox’s Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), brings advanced predictive maintenance (PdM) technology to the industrial manufacturing sector to reduce costly unplanned downtime. The Novity solution is an Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) technology that uses IIoT sensors and proprietary algorithms to enable industrial manufacturers to see the future health of their production assets. The Novity TruPrognostics™ engine relies on a combination of machine learning and physics-based models of equipment. This allows Novity to predict equipment failures with 90 percent or better accuracy and lead times of months, not weeks or days.
We have an opening for a Front-End Software Engineer. This position is a remote position with a preference for East Coast-based candidates. The primary responsibility is the development of client-side logic for the Novity SaaS platform written in React.js, with a Golang/Python back end. A secondary responsibility is the design and development of UI/UX concepts and prototypes.
Responsibilities
- Development and maintenance of front-end software written in React.js
- Design and development of new data visualization capabilities using various JS libraries
- Design and development of UI/UX concepts and prototypes
- Implementation of security and data protection functions in the front end
- Building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use
Requirements
- A minimum of 5+ years of hands-on front end software development experience
- Proficiency with modern web technologies
- At least 3 years of experience with React.js
- Expert knowledge of JS-based data visualization frameworks
- Demonstrated UI/UX and visualization skills including familiarity for UI/UX design and prototyping platforms such as Figma and InVision
- Good grasp on core web concepts such as responsive design and mobile-first design
- Solid development practices with attention to documentation, detail, design, and quality
- A desire to learn new technologies and concepts
- Communication, writing and organizational skills
- Experience working in an agile team
