As our Engineering Manager for our Quality Engineering function at Big Health, you will report to the Director of Engineering and manage a team of experienced quality engineers of all levels. Your team will be responsible for providing the technology to allow the product teams to delivering quality products. Providing them with ways to get fast feedback on the functional and non functional characteristics (e.g. performance) of their products with the least amount of effort.
Your team’s work sits in an exciting segment of the healthcare tech ecosystem, creating a “digital therapeutic” — where technology itself is the therapy.

This role is heavily focused on people management, we are looking for a Manager who can guide a team, champion the fundamentals underlying a DevOps culture, invests care in growing each member of their team, and can enable them to perform at their highest levels. This role can be remote anywhere in the US.
What you’ll do:
- Maintain a high trust environment and ensure a climate of psychological safety
- Manage a team of engineers to develop Quality Engineering processes and uphold quality throughout the Product Development organization
- Be an advocate for your team and a trusted advisor to all partners
- Support team operations, health and growth through regular 1:1s, periodic reviews, coaching, mentoring, networking
- Contribute to the hiring plan and act as a hiring manager for new roles on your team
- Support the technical decision process through coaching, mediation and facilitation with a focus on asking questions, bringing context, and clarifying
- Ultimately, owning the performance of your team and be jointly responsible, along with your Product and Design partners, for the health of your team and the delivery of your product
What you bring:
- 2+ years successfully leading a cross-functional engineering team of 3 engineers or more
- 5+ years software engineering experience
- Experience with Agile Methodologies
- Experience with driving the implementation of Test Automation and Continuous Integration tools for software teams
- Experience with various testing methodologies, such as Test-Driven Development and/or Behavior-Driven Development
- Knowledge of software design and agile processes to effectively deliver products
- Experience with test automation tools, such as Selenium WebDriver, Appium or other
- Experience with Cloud-based architecture
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- Experience working with distributed teams (our teams are spread across the US, UK and Serbia time zones)
It would be great if you had…
- Experience with continuous integration tools, such as Jenkins, CircleCI, or other
- Experience with serverless technologies like AWS Lambda
- Experience working with sensitive data (e.g. financial, health)
- Experience applying DEVOPS principles in a team context
- Experience working on integrations project with external partners
